The objectives of this club shall be to provide an opportunity for students of chemical sciences to become better acquainted, to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from the professional association, to obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before chemical audiences, to foster a professional spirit among the members, to instill a professional pride in the chemical sciences, and to foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist. The Chemical Society of F&M will also provide support to those students pursuing membership in the American Chemical Society.

Educating people on not only the language, but who deaf, hard of hearing people, and Kodas are, brings society one step closer together and crosses such barriers that make it hard to communicate.

In that spirit, the Asian American Alliance provides opportunities for students interested in learning about the history, culture, and multifaceted experiences of the diverse community of Asian Americans in the context of our campus and of greater societies. This organization seeks to build and nurture a supportive learning environment that recognizes and celebrates the unique experiences of Asian American students. This group promotes inclusion by creating a safe space to discuss various current events and histories related to Asian American experiences. Through student-led discussions and campus events, the purpose of this organization is to provide a space for students to discuss and learn about social, political, and other issues that pervade the Asian American community on a campus, national, and international scale.

The Benjamin Rush Society for Healing Arts Professionals - named for a charter member of the college's board of trustees, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and preeminent physician of the Revolutionary War Dr. Benjamin Rush - was founded in 1989 by Dr. Stanley J. Dudrick ’57 in order to connect alumni in the healing arts professions, and to raise funds for the construction of the Martin Library of the Sciences.

The first healing arts honor society on campus was established in 1994 when Franklin and Marshall created a local chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Pre-Medical Honor Society. The mission of this society is to “encourage and recognize excellence in premedical scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education; to promote communication between medical and premedical students and educators; to provide a forum for students with common interests; and to use its resources to benefit health organizations, charities, and the community.” This society provided many opportunities to pre-healing arts students was recognized for its contributions to the public service, and received awards at the College’s Annual Awards Ceremony on three occasions. Despite the vitality of the National AED society and the Franklin and Marshall chapter, it was strongly perceived by members that the goals of the national organization did not agree with those of the most beneficial pre-healing arts experience at Franklin and Marshall.

In 1998, a new Franklin and Marshall healing arts honor society was created through a revitalized and expanded Benjamin Rush Society of Healing Arts Professionals. The society currently exists as a partnership between alumni, students, and faculty with a connection to the health sciences and an interest in matters related to the vitality of the pre-healing arts program at Franklin and Marshall.

The “Climbing Crew of Perilous Souls” is a student-run organization that provides
a means for veteran seadogs and fresh mates alike to test their physical and mental
abilities when it comes to climbing boulders, rock walls, and various other climbable
surfaces. The crew provides a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment that also
provides an outlet to exercise, meet new friends, and hone your skills. While no salty seas are at the ready for exploration here in Lancaster, the crew is to still provide the
transportation to and selection of various climbing spots and opportunities.

Epilogue is a literary magazine publishing F&M student artwork, photography, and written pieces. It aims to provide an artistic and creative outlet for the student body to promote and uplift voices. The magazine staff will aim to publish one publication per semester based on a thematic concept. Submissions and membership are open to the entire student population at F&M. Epilogue will also work in close coordination with other student publications in order to provide mutual support for any and all endeavors undertaken.

To promote Lancaster's role as the "refugee capital" of the U.S., FARR aims to integrate F&M with Lancaster's diverse population of forced migrants through experiential learning opportunities. In partnership with Church World Service (CWS), local refugee resettlement agency, FARR offers a range of volunteer opportunities from medical ESL tutoring to housing set-ups to airport welcoming committees for all students to participate in. FARR also serves as an educational organization that emphasizes discussions on the imminent issue of forced migration with hopes of creating a student body that is engaged with Lancaster. Regular meetings will include presentations from local refugees from Ukraine Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti Syria, etc. on their experiences as forced migrants, and events hosted by CWS to learn more about the agency's work with resettlement. 

In spirit of Every Campus a Refuge (ECAR), a model created by Dr. Diya Abdo, a Palestinian-American second-generation refugee, we want to promote the duty of institutions and their students' responsibilities to the communities that surround them. Joining FARR would strengthen F&M's relationship to the broader community and raise awareness of the real social issues that occur in our beloved city.

In Dance Company, we assist in the development of an understanding and practice of performance in dance that expands within both your artistry and responsibility to rehearsals and concerts. We aim to facilitate a deepened understanding of choreography, with an opportunity to practice choreography with student work in the Spring Concerts. Dance Company will expand your exposure to dance techniques, traditions, and creative practice through master classes, creativity workshops, rehearsals, and performances. Additionally, it will foster community through collaboration, co-creation, supporting one another in the rehearsal process, and more.

The F&M Dance program is committed to strengthening and developing our work as allies in the struggle for social justice, and as accomplices to disrupt patterns that reinforce institutionalized oppressions and inequities at F&M and beyond. We understand that action must be taken and that the labor is upon us, as faculty, to continually work toward reform. Dance itself is an action, and we believe in, practice, and teach dance as a mechanism for social change, for healing, for empowerment, for individual expression, for bringing beauty into the world, and for community-building. We are committed to cultivating a safe space for all voices in our classes and in our concerts, celebrating diversity, promoting inclusion, supporting mental health and wellness, and insisting on respect for each other.
